Yahoo! News - Woman Knocked Unconscious While Shopping: "ORANGE CITY, Fla. - A mob of shoppers rushing for a sale on DVD players trampled the first woman in line and knocked her unconscious as they scrambled for the shelves at a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Patricia VanLester had her eye on a $29 DVD player, but when the siren blared at 6 a.m. Friday announcing the start to the post-Thanksgiving sale, the 41-year-old was knocked to the ground by the frenzy of shoppers behind her."

1. Why NOT to shop at Wal-Mart

2. In case you forgot... while we may be at the top of the food chain, that doesn't mean that the majority of us are much more than animals. Shameful.

Late Halloween Pumpkin pics
Di and I carved pumpkins this year (I was in school Halloween weekend, so I didn't make it out to any parties)... they turned out pretty darn well!

Di did a cool set of witchy/bird eyes on a small round pumpkin.

I did Golem on a tall, thin pumpkin.

Here's Di's:

Here's mine:

Yes, we cheated (found drawings on line)... but we did the 3 hours of carving by hand! ;)

IHT: China confirms a new space mission: "Its confidence in space travel rising, China announced plans Wednesday to send two more astronauts into orbit within the next two years on the country's second manned mission."
---
Wow, China is really starting to ramp quickly on the technology curve... and gaining access to space (especially on a persistent basis if they are able to launch their space station in their 10 yr window) will only increase their ramp. The giant is stirring... life as we know it will change profoundly when China becomes a true first class citizen... and world power.

The Globe and Mail: "A year ago, U.S. researcher Paul Wentworth and his colleagues made the discovery that our bodies produce ozone when antibodies kill bacteria. Their findings challenged conventional wisdom on two fronts. Ozone was not considered a part of human biology, and immunologists did not believe that antibodies actually killed bacteria. "
---
WOW, I had no idea I was creating ozone... This seems to indicate that the sicker you are, the sicker you get... that is, by killing off bacteria, there's a negative long term health impact in reduced arterial health...
