Separating Search and Contextual Inventory - Overture Tracking URLs (OTU)

Separating Search and Contextual Inventory: "Note: To determine if Overture traffic is from paid placement or Content Match, turn on the optional 'Overture Tracking URLs' feature in the DTC (or ask your search agency to). This allows your tracking or campaign management system to differentiate traffic and helps manage content listings against ROI or other post-click objectives. The Overture Tracking URLs feature is also used by campaign management and tracking systems to differentiate the Overture match type."

OTU, one of my small babies at Overture, gets some press! Now, when will they catch on to the web services interface?!

Orkut

Got in just before the story broke; big thanks to Tom Nielsen for the hook-up. Sites down now & I haven't had time to fully explore it... but I liked what I saw -- a lot of personal touches, almost devoid of a corporate feel. It'll be interested to see how long it stays that way.

orkut
Orkut "in affiliate with Google". Looks like Google is interested in the social networking space too... perhaps as a driver for personalized search?

If you're a member and are reading this, I'd love an invite! tjg@buzzhit.com. Thanks!

eurekster search

YASNA (Yet Another Social Networking Application). Haven't had a chance to play with it in detail yet (Tribe, LinkedIn, Ryze and Friendster are plenty...), but the search results seem reasonable... and already have someone's paid results integrated... More as I have time.
