Appcasting? Kill me now

Deeje points to an piece from Ranchero Software about Appcasting, "the practice of using the 'enclosure' feature of RSS 2.0 feeds to deliver updates and release notes for new software applications."

In the immortal words of you know who... "It's Deja Vu all over again"

Am I the only one that remembers Marimba?

Are we going to have a "casting" naming convention for every device, file format and media type? Let's just call it what it is and be done with it:

Binary Casting, or, bincasting if you're "cool"

You're not the only one. I had the same reaction. This is getting rediculous!
