Just heard a second hand rumor (but from someone in-the-know) that Knight Ridder has acquired Topix.net.

Given all the other acquisitions in the last week, and the fact that Ross and Hilary (amongst a hundred other media and tech execs) were at the Topix Christmas party, this one likely has legs.

Kudos to Rich Skrenta and team (who I'm about to call) if this pans out!
